Also a second morning session yesterday included "Activa Arena : Angola 2020" with key note speaker Desiderio da Graca Verissimo e Costa, Angl'as Minister of Petroleum gather a big crow.

The Angola's energy minister, said the oil sector is leading the economy in his country and they look at it as a long term business.

"We hope the oil sector will continue its leading role in our economy for years to come," he said.

"Waves of Change" included panelists : Matthew A. Forster, Engineering Manager Abu Dhabi, BP; Tony Oldfield, SURF Project Director Greater Plutonio, BP; John Peak, Greater Plutonio Subsurface Manager, BP Angola BU; Graeme Stewart, Director Project Execution, BP and Graham Stewart, Resource Development Manager, BP Angola BU.

We can say it leaves no doubt that the new African frontiers for oil exploration and production on the African continent is Angola, even that Nigeria has as usual the largest contingent of exhibitors and conferees from Africa.

Angola is the newest OPEC members and it produces around 1.7 million barrels of oil per day in 2008, monthly offshore. Angola has proven oil reserves of 9 billion barrels, according to the Petroleum minister.

The annual Offshore Technology Conference is the largest gathering of oil and gas industry service providers and one of the most veritable means of reaching foreign investors.

This year the OTC is expected to break attendance records past the last year 67,000 visitors mark. It offers attendees the opportunity to learn about those new technologies in geoscience, deepwater methods and equipment, industry trends, and more.

The 2008 theme, Waves of Change, encompasses changes in technology as well as changes in the workforce that highlight the need to not only keep pace but also to anticipate future developments. OTC offers attendees the opportunity to learn about those new technologies in geoscience, deepwater methods and equipment, industry trends, and more.
