Ecopetrol projects petrochemical sales at 2.7 mln tpa by 2015

Colombia's
state oil company Ecopetrol plans to increase its sales
of petrochemicals to 2.7 mln tpa in 2015, from 169,000
tons in 2007, at a projected investment of US$4 bln.
Polyethylene production will be boosted to 900000 tpa from
the current 50000 tpa.
Polypropylene production will be
boosted to 720000 tpa. Butadiene and styrene butadiene
production will be boosted to 685000 tpa. Aromatics production
will rise to 395000 tpa from 129000 tpa.
